Niantic has finally announced a Halloween event that will start on October 26, 2016. The week and event duration will feature Candy bonuses by the double every time Pokemon GO trainers catch, hatch and transfer Pokemon.
For starters, you'll encounter more of what developer Niantic calls the "spookiest Pokemon," which includes ghosts like Gastly, Gengar, and Haunter, and also Drowzee and Zubat for some reason. The game's buddy system is also getting a Halloween tweak, with your buddy handing you four candies instead of one every time you walk a pre-set distance. Oh, and Professor Willow will give you two candies for every monster you give up. Best grab a scarf, it's gonna be cold out there. This is a perfect time to evolve as much Magikarps as you want until you get the perfect moveset for Gyarados, too. You'll also receive increased rewards if you have a buddy Pokemon setup.
This is definitely a great event for Pokemon Go to be implemented to get players involved.
